About
the book
Geckoes,
a rich and diverse group of reptiles, have successfully adapted to a wide
variety of climates and habitats, and seldom present any problems if kept
correctly. This beautifully illustrated volume explains the history,
evolution and range of the species, and also provides the information necessary
for all aspects of gecko care and breeding - including housing, heating,
lighting, incubation, diet and the treatment of disease. This book,
written by two of Europe's most eminent gecko specialists, will prove an
invaluable addition to the library of anyone who deals with geckoes in an
amateur or professional capacity.
My comments:
This information taken from the back cover of the book says it
all. Once again, here you are presented with information you know has been
collected from years' work with these animals, and which you know you can
trust. The illustrations are first rate and the entire book exhibits
quality.
Although the angle of the text is definitely towards the husbandry of these reptiles, there is a lot of information besides on the natural habitats also. I find this data very useful. The book consists of some 250 pages divided into the following chapters:
Lifestyle, Appearance and Distribution of Geckoes
Reproduction
The Vivarium
Vivarium Technology
Geckoes Frequently Kept in Captivity
Bibliography
I'm afraid this is another expensive book, but in this case you are paying for quality and a huge amount of research.
