For Sale and Wanted

Last update: 05 September, 2008
If you are looking for a particular species, you can advertise your wants here although we can also search the database for you and find members who might have what you are looking for.
If it's an exchange you're after, perhaps to introduce new blood, then that's fine too.
Accompanying photos of stock you are offering would be excellent.
Adverts are placed until the end of the next full month.  You must inform me if you wish the advert to be carried on after that date.

Please read these notes:

Advice for sellers:
I place adverts on this Website on behalf of site visitors, free and in good faith, but the BDG accepts no responsibility with regard the outcome of any transaction.  Adverts need not be restricted to Dendrobates species, but should be animal/plant-related.  We cannot carry large adverts for dealers but we can offer links to dealers' Websites.
The BDG reserves the right to refuse any advertisement.

Advice for buyers:
When you respond to the necessarily brief adverts placed here, it is natural to want to enquire about the animals on offer.
Remember, breeders may be inundated with requests at this time, and have to try to filter through these contacts in order to sell their surplus stock.  Expect demand to far exceed supply.
If all you need is general information, then please ask for such.  Breeders are busy people.
For this reason please be patient if you do not hear from them immediately.  They are probably in the process of making offers to people on a first come, first served basis, and will need to await a response to these before they can deal with their most recent or less urgent enquiries.
Remember, it is only common courtesy to respond to any offer a breeder makes to you by informing him/her of your final intention, whether it be positive or negative, as quickly as you can.
Finally, do not expect breeders to give their surplus stock away for free.
ADDENDUM
a) It is not possible to guarantee sexes of animals supplied by breeders, especially if the frogs are youngsters.  With adults an educated guess can sometimes be made, but cannot be guaranteed.

b) Breeders set their prices for a number of reasons.  This may or may not include delivery within a certain radius.  However, it is not normal practice to haggle over prices when only one or two animals are being bought.  It may be possible to obtain some reduction if quantities are bought, but this would probably mean buying upwards of ten animals from the same breeder.  Otherwise, please accept the prices given.
